Michelle Lopes Maldonado

Founder & CEO, Lucenscia

Michelle Maldonado is Founder & CEO of Lucenscia, a human potential and mindful business transformation firm dedicated to developing leaders and organizations with positive impact in the world.


​​A former corporate and technology attorney turned business development and operations professional with more than 20 years of leadership experience and over 35 years of contemplative practice, Michelle now dedicates her time to helping leaders and their teams do their inner work to create outer impact. She is a Search Inside Yourself (SIY) Level 2 Certified Teacher® with the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI), a Google-inspired organization with a mission to create the conditions for world peace by cultivating the conditions for inner peace; and a Certified Mindfulness Teacher-Professional Level (CMT-P) with the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA), a global organization dedicated to the professionalization and standardization of the mindfulness field.

Michelle joyfully serves as faculty and Meta-Coach for Dan Goleman’s inaugural Emotional Intelligence Coaching Certification program, is a Certified Genos International Emotional Intelligence Practitioner® and faculty and Teaching Fellow for the True North Leadership Program at 1440 Multiversity, co-teaching with Bill George (former CEO of Medtronic, Harvard Professor and author of Authentic Leadership and True North Leadership) and Scott Kriens (co-founder of 1440 Multiversity, former CEO of Juniper Networks and Chairman of the Board).

As a Director on the Formation Board of the Institute for Organizational Mindfulness (IOM), Michelle also supports global efforts to bring the proven benefits of secular, science-based mindfulness to organizations, schools and government agencies that is grounded in the framework of Emotional Intelligence.

Michelle is a graduate of Barnard College at Columbia University and The George Washington University Law School. She currently resides in the Washington, DC metropolitan area with her family.
